Raymond J. Laitres

Raymond J. Laitres, 85, formerly of Grammar Street, died March 17 at Hillcrest Gardens in Sanford following a long illness.He was born in Fitchburg, MA on October 21, 1919, a son of Joseph and Mary (Sanson) Laitres. He came to Sanford in 1924 and attended local schools.He was an army veteran of World War II.He was employed as a truck driver for the former Kostis Fruit Company in Sanford for 31 years.He was a communicant of Holy Family Church.Survivors include 2 sisters, Rita Lavigne of Sanford, Noella Joncas of Biddeford and several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be held from 6-8 PM on Sunday at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9 AM on Monday in Holy Family Church. Burial will be in spring in St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice, 54B Atlantic Place, So. Portland, ME 04106.
