Ralph R. Schoffield, 86, of Acton, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Sedgewood Commons in Falmouth. Ralph was born on July 5, 1937, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, to Ralph and Agnes Schoffield. Following his military service, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a master plumber, demonstrating proficiency not only in plumbing but also in electrical work and carpentry. Over the years, Ralph lent his expertise to the construction of numerous homes. Upon retiring, Ralph pursued his passion for woodworking and construction, culminating in the construction of his home in Acton, where he resided for over two decades. A man of few words, Ralph found solace and contentment in the quietude of his home, appreciating the simple joys of wood crafting and building and occasionally venturing out for his favorite treat, ice cream. Ralph is survived by three children, Linda Vanbever and her husband Thomas of Goffstown, New Hampshire; Debra Tremblay of Center Conway, New Hampshire; and Paul Schoffield of Edgewater, Florida. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and three siblings, Lorraine Cornetta of Sanford; Pat Nelson of Burlington, Massachusetts; and Anne Schoffield of West Palm Beach, Florida. A private burial with military honors will be held at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale, honoring Ralph's service to his country. Arrangements are under the compassionate care of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.

  1. I was Ralph’s CNA when he was in the hospital in Biddeford. I really enjoyed being his CNA. We would talk and go for walks outside the hospital. He would crack me up. He loved his family and telling stories about the buildings around us. I will remember him fondly. I’m happy God placed him in my path. My prayers are with the family and I’m happy Ralph is at peace. 💙💙💙 Christina
