Ralph W. Peterson Jr.Ralph W. Peterson, 74, of Acton, ME; formerly of Wilmington and Wakefield, MA, died peacefully at Southern Maine Medical Center on June 3, 2003.He was born in Chelsea, MA on June 13, 1928; the son of Ralph W. Sr. and Ruth Frederickson Peterson. In 1946 he graduated from Sanford Maine High School and continued his education at Boston University and the University of Pittsburgh.Mr. Peterson was Sr. Vice President and Manager of the New England Region for Ketchum Inc. He worked in the Boston area and retired from Ketchum Inc. in 1991.Mr. Peterson was an active member of the Acton Congregational Church; where he served as chairman of the building committee, and working with the committee he helped write the first church by-laws. His beautiful bass-baritone voice was often enjoyed as he sang in the church choir.Winters were spent in Charlotte Harbor, Fl and many friends were made by the Petersons' at the Burnt Store Presbyterian Church. Even though his health was failing he still sang the gospel hymns he loved, especially his favorite "It Is Well With My Soul".Ralph was a devoted husband, father, uncle and grandfather. He encouraged his wife Ellie in her musical endeavors and as a sports enthusiast he enjoyed his sons' football and coaching years.Surviving is his wife of 52 years Eleanor Lutton Peterson, daughters Dale Peterson and Dawn Reavis, a son Ralph W. Peterson III and his wife Karen Simpson Peterson, granddaughters Laina Reavis, Emily, Laura and Anna Peterson and several nieces and nephews.A memorial service for Mr. Peterson at the Acton Congregational Church will be held on Sunday August 24, 2003 at 3:00 PM.For those that desire memorial contributions may be made to the Acton Congregational Church, P.O.
