Peter Tapscott

Peter Tapscott, of Sanford passed away on Saturday May 28 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford at the age of 66 years old. He was born in Rochester, NH on April 12, 1939 a son of Eugene M. and Marion K. (Murphy) Tapscott. He attended local schools in Somersworth and graduated from Somersworth High School in 1956. He then served his country in the United States Air Force from 1956 until 1960.On July 1, 1961 he married the former Jacqueline 'Jackie' R. Desrochers at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Sanford. He retired from General Electric with 34 years of service with the company. After retirement he worked part time for Car Quest. He enjoyed camping at Lake Forest Resort in NH. He also enjoyed going for his morning coffee and socializing with his friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.He is predeceased by his parents, Eugene M. and Marion K Tapscott, two daughters, Kelly Ann Tapscott who passed away in 1972 at the age of 7 years old, Kathleen Lois Tapscott who passed away in 1988 at the age of 14 years old, one sister, Lois Pray, one brother, Raymond Tapscott.He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jackie (Desrochers) Tapscott of Sanford, one daughter, Natalie Cox and her husband, Don of Sanford, two sons, Nathan Tapscott and his wife, Diane of Acton, Gary Tapscott and his wife, Crystal of Sanford, five grandchildren, Tanya Cox, Casey Cox, Nicholas Tapscott, Jonathan Tapscott and Ryan Tapscott, two brothers, Albert Tapscott of Somersworth, NH and Brian Tapscott of Somersworth, NH one sister, Mary Lou Stiles of North Carolina as well as several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be on Tuesday May 31 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Sanford. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafarance-Lambert & Black funeral Home 29 Winter Street, Sanford.
