Pauline E. Harris

Pauline Harris, 88, of Sanford, ME died Monday, September 13, 2004 at the Newton Center in Sanford. Mrs. Harris was born on December 11, 1915 in Sanford to John and Alice (Gallant) Cunningham. Pauline worked at the shipyard in South Portland as a riveter helping to build the Liberty Ships during World War II. Later in life, she worked in admitting at Goodall Hospital in Sanford.Mrs. Harris was an avid reader. She also greatly enjoyed cooking and traveling. One of her more notable trips was a four-year cross-country excursion with her sister Helen.Pauline will be remembered as a kind and giving person. She was very family orientated and a wonderful mother. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.Surviving are three sons, John Vacchiano, of Arundel, ME; Charles Harris, of Framingham, MA; Leslie Harris of Oregon; two daughters, Anna Cotai, of Natick, MA; Linda Harris of Duneden, FL; and a sister, Helen Belmont, of Nashua, NH.A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 17th at 1:00 pm at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.
