Alfred, MEPauline Ricker DeHaven of Alfred, Maine died October 14, 2002.She was born December 15, 1920 in Lebanon, Maine to Edward C. Ricker and Ella May (Baker) Ricker. Pauline was a Resident of Alfred since 1923. She married Bernard H. DeHaven on June 30, 1939.Pauline was actively involved in the Town of Alfred, formerly serving as a Registrar of Voters. She was a member of the Alfred Parish Church where she served as a Deaconess. Other memberships included the Fern Chapter No. 139, O.E.S., the Alfred Historical Society, Alfred Historical Committee, Program Chairman for the New Horizons Club for twelve years, the original Friends of the Library, and treasurer of the Alfred Extension Homemaker's Club. Along with her husband, Pauline served on the Alfred Festival Committee for many years. She was a former correspondent for the Sanford News.Pauline studied art with Cal Wilson and discovered she enjoyed painting with oils. She produced many paintings for her own enjoyment as well as painting for others. She sketched town historical buildings for the covers of the Alfred Town Reports each year for twelve years. She also made original patterns for clothespin dolls, which were displayed at the Parson's Memorial Library and Alfred Village Museum.She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bernard H. DeHaven, Alfred; two daughters, Donna Magnuson, Alfred, and Roberta Boyer, Longwood, Florida; three brothers, Gerard Ricker, Alfred, Cecil Ricker, Lyman, and Colby Ricker, Wells; one aunt, Carrie Mangar, Emery Mills; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A 1:00 PM funeral service will be held on Wednesday October 16, 2002 at the Alfred Parish Church in Alfred, ME. The Rev. Bruce Burnham will officiate. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Alfred.
