Patricia I. Rideout

Patricia I. Rideout, 58 years old, of Sanford, ME died Tuesday morning January 4, 2005 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford, ME.Mrs. Rideout was born on March 25, 1946 in Lubec, ME. She was the daughter of James Foley Sr. and Myra Campbell Smith. For many years she worked at Hannaford Brothers as a deli assistant in the town of Sanford, and prior to that she worked for the Maine State Police Department as a receptionist.Patricia was a very outgoing lady. She had great family values, and cherished their company. Patricia loved to go to her grandchildrens' school functions, especially their athletic events. Patricia also enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays, tending to her flower gardens, and traveling the world. Her wonderful sense of humor, and vibrant smile could light up any room she entered, and even in poor health she put others' needs ahead of her own.Surviving is her father James Foley Sr. of Lubec, ME; her husband of 20 years, Bruce Rideout of Sanford, ME; three daughters, Jodi and Andrew Lovejoy of Sanford, ME, Kellie Matthews of Springvale, ME, and Melissa Matthews, and her partner Cindy Nappi of Portland, ME. Also surviving are four brothers, James Foley Jr., Peter Foley, Randy Smith, Kevin Smith; two sisters, Marie Foley and Sharon Foley; and five grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Stephen, Samantha, and Nicole.A period of visitation for Patricia will be held Friday evening, January 7th from 6 to 8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St. Sanford, ME. A 9:00 AM memorial mass for Patricia will be held on Saturday the 8th at Holy Family Church in Sanford, ME.For those that desire memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 122 State St., Augusta, ME 04330.
