Pamela Tourangeau, 70, of Burlington, NC, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. She was born on February 7, 1956, in Berlin, New Hampshire, the daughter of Sally (Murphy) Tourangeau and the late Richard Tourangeau.

Pam attended Rivier College for her undergraduate degree and then received her Masters Degree in Counseling Education from the University of Southern Maine. She was a dedicated therapist who devoted her career to helping others, particularly those who were affected by trauma. Pam served as the director of the York County Juvenile Fire Safety and Intervention Collaborative where her knowledge and leadership led to the program becoming a national model. She also served as a mental health liaison at the York County Emergency Management Agency and an instructor for the National Fire Academy. She was well respected by all her peers. Pam was exceptionally creative and was a lifelong artist and crafter, creating beauty from every form of media she touched. She was a devoted mother and an avid gardener who found joy in watching her family and her garden blossom.

She will be remembered for her empathy, sharp wit, and unwavering love for her family.

She is survived by her mother, Sally; her three daughters, Meagan Vaughn and her spouse Ryland, Sarah Waycott and her spouse Randy, and Hannah Welsh and her spouse Benjamin; her cherished grandchildren Madison, Kaelyn, Zander, Lucy, Claire, Abigail, Tavish, and Sawyer; and her three younger sisters Cindy Johnston, Donna Goodrich, and Suzanne Tourangeau.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 10am – 11am on Saturday, April 11, 2026, a Celebration of Life will begin at 11am at the new Conroy-Tully Walker, Cremation, Funeral & Gathering Center, 300 Allen Ave. Portland.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Pam’s memory by performing a random act of kindness. Whether it’s lending a hand, sharing a smile, or helping someone in need, we hope you’ll continue the warmth and compassion that she so freely gave to others.

  1. So sorry to learn of Pam’s passing. We grew up together in the same neighborhood. She was such a wonderful woman. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. God received an angel when Pam arrived in Heaven!

    • My condolences to the family. I was very sad when I heard Pam had passed. There was a bunch of us that hung around together back in the late sixties early seventies. She was always fun to be around very adventurous and full of life. Always looked forward to seeing her at our class reunions. Rest in Peace Pam, until we meet again. God bless your soul.
