Norma Weyland

Norma Nan (Barsantee) Weyland, 80, of Acton, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday morning of April 13, 2006. She was born in Sanford on January 23, 1926, a daughter of Alfred and Margaret (Ross) Barsantee. She attended local schools graduating from Sanford High School.Norma will be known for her vivacious character, her ability to accomplish anything, and her astute mindset. She was an avid reader, and had a passion to learn new information. Another love for Norma was animals, which she gave constant care and affection to. She was successful for many years owning the Port Restaurant in Kennebunkport, and retired after 20 years at York Manor as house-keeping supervisor, however her greatest accomplishment was her family. Norma Weyland is deeply loved and will be missed by all.She is predeceased by her sister, Barbara Jones.She is survived by her husband, Gordon Cyril Weyland of Acton, her daughter, Margaret Florence Weyland Poole and her husband, Billy Joe Poole of Acton, her son, Douglas Robert Weyland and his wife, Melody Weyland of Acton, her grandchildren, Kristin Poole Shorey of Greenbush, Shawna Amanda Poole of Acton, Ashley Nicole Poole of Acton, Austin Gordon Weyland of Acton and Josey-Mae Margaret Weyland of Acton, niece, Susan Jones of Greensborough, N.C., Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale.Condolences may be expressed by going to the "condolence" tab at the left.
