Noreen M. Libby

Springvale, MaineNoreen M. Libby, 73, of Springvale Maine died Tuesday August 20, 2002 at her summer home on Swan Pond in Lyman.She was born in Springvale on December 13, 1928, she was the daughter of Harry E. and Ola F. (Taylor) Fuller, and was a 1946 graduate of Sanford High School.Noreen received The Annie E. Bailey Scholarship and was a Graduate of Gorham State Teachers College in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She then received her Masters of Education Degree from The University of Southern Maine in 1971.She was a schoolteacher for 29 years, teaching in 1st, 6th and 4th grade classrooms for Saco and Biddeford public school systems. Mrs. Libby was a remedial reading specialist for 19 years.Noreen was Past President and on Board of Gorham Alumni Assoc., Past President of Secretaries Assoc of Order of Easter Star, and Secretary of Annette Chapter #184 O.E.S. for 16 years.She was a church soloist and entertainer for over 50 years in the area as well as many area nursing homes. Noreen was a member of Iva Grants Glee Club, Lawrence Davis Chorale, Seaglass Chorale of Kennebunk, with a Concert tour of Italy in 1996. She was an active member of Christian Science Society of Saco and Sanford.Noreen was an avid traveler having been on several cruises to the Caribbean. She visited France, England, Austria, Germany, Italy, Bermuda and Hawaii.She is survived by her mother Ola Fuller of Springvale; son Daron Hanson Libby of Londonderry, NH; daughters Brya MacKimball of Ossipee, NH., and Jana Boudreau of Arundel, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday in Riverside Cemetery, Springvale.
