Nedra J. Ricker

Nedra J. Ricker, 87 years old, of Alfred, ME died early Sunday morning January 25, 2004 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford.Mrs. Ricker was born on December 7, 1916 in Sanford, ME. She was the daughter of Donald and Miriam Preece She attended Sanford schools, and is a graduate of Sanford, High School.Mrs. Ricker worked for several years at the Woolworth's store, and Roberts Restaurant in Alfred. From 1953 until her retirement in 1980 she worked at the Alfred Post Office, and retired as the Alfred Post Master. She was a 55-year member of the Alfred Grange, a member of the Pythian Sisters, Arbutus Club, and the Horizon Club. Mrs. Ricker enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and above all spending time with her family.Predeceasing her is her husband Waldo Ricker, and a grandson Stephen Ricker.Surviving are two daughters, Eleanor Williams of Sanford, Sally Clark of Sanford; a son, Richard Ricker of Sanford; grandchildren, Linda Brewer, Jonathan Clark, David Clark, James Ricker, Jason Ricker, and great-grandchildren Sarah and Justin Brewer, and Andrew and William Clark.A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday January 27th from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Heald Funeral Home, Springvale, ME; where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Greewood Center Activities Fund, 1142 Main St., Sanford, ME 04073.
