Nancy (Nan) Marie McMullen passed away at the age of 68 suddenly on May 27, 2021 at her residence in Sanford, Maine. She was born in Somerville Massachusetts to her parents Marilyn and Donald Kirkpatrick. She was a lifelong resident of New England. Nancy "Nan" to most was a loving and caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend. She had a love for her family like no other; she was the glue to the home. Her laugh was contagious and her smile like no other. Often Nan would pass the time outdoors by the fire with Blake Shelton in the background or in her favorite place, The White Mountains of North Conway. She was a diehard Patriots fan and always cheered for her Tom Brady on Sundays. There was nothing that she would not do for her Family or her friends. Nan was the strongest women anyone could have ever known. For the last 4 years she fought End Stage Renal Disease fearlessly and never let it consume her. On her lazy days she enjoyed her cowboy shows and lots of candy.Nancy is Survived by the love of her life to whom she was married for 43 beautiful years her husband Gerald F. McMullen, her one and only daughter Kimberly Ann McMullen and her only grandson Tyler James McMullen,hHer nieces Ashley McMullen, Jessica Caira, Kelly Renwick and Shelley Coiley, her nephews Ian McMullen, Danny McDonnell and Patrick McDonnell, her sisters, Candice McDonnell and Suellen Kirkpatrick and her brothers Steven and Brian Kirkpatrick. Nan will always be the missing piece to our puzzle and missed everyday by those she loved so dearly. May her memory make you smile, and her love carry you forever. May she rest in everlasting peace until we see her again. -The McMullen Family.A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Well, here I sit at 7:38 exactly 25 minutes after everything had happened. This past year has been the worst without you around or hearing you call for one of us around the house. Its hard to believe that it was a whole year ago when it seems like it was just yesterday you were trying to get flowers or go grocery shopping. I try to let you know everything that is going on in life on here like its a direct message to you. Wether you can see it or not, I received a scholarship for my leadership in the community, I spent the last 6 months with the NH state police and I am on track to being a trooper. I am back working at the anchorage for the summer and I have had so many interviews for jobs after college. Only one year left to go! I just finished junior year with all As again. Melissa just got back from London and things are going awesome. Mom is working an amazing new job as a business consultant, selling cars and being all fancy shmancy! Youd be very proud of the person shes becoming. Papa is keep on keeping on working with me at the anchorage. He doesnt talk about it much but Me and mom know the pain he is in everyday and the sadness he has when hes alone. He helped me with a lot of college type of issues thank god! Anywho we are all down here just trying to figure it out without you and thats nearly impossible but I know youre still here some where. I love you and I miss you more and more as each day passes it doesnt get easier. The only comfort I find is that youre no longer battling kidney disease and that you fought as long and as hard as you did for the 3 of us. We each carry parts of you inside of us and it helps us achieve the impossible. Until the next life update or just to say hello. I Love you forever and always -your grandson Tyler
