Nancy L. Junkins, 75, of Sanford, died peacefully at her home on August 16, 2024. Nancy was born on April 26, 1949, the daughter of Walter and Maxine Lozowski. She was a beloved member of her community known for her perseverance, generosity, and unwavering spirit.
After graduating from high school, Nancy went to work at Sprague Electric in Sanford where she worked for 25 years. She married her sweetheart, Edward MacLellan soon after and they welcomed their daughter, Amy. After leaving Sprague Electric, Nancy went to work at Associated Eye Care in Sanford where she worked for six years before leaving due to illness.
Nancy lost Edward to complications of cancer in 1979. She then dated and married Garry Junkins. He and Nancy had many good times together and were able to travel for a few years to visit friends and especially to Bike Week in Daytona, Florida.
Born in Biddeford and raised in Alfred, Nancy dedicated her later life to her granddaughters, sewing, cooking, and activities with local social clubs including Springvale Social Club and American Legion Post #19 where she was an officer of the American Legion Unit #19 for many years. She was also a lifelong member of the Wolves Club in Sanford.
Nancy was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward W. MacLellan, a brother Robert Lozowski and a sister, Helen “Joey” Lozowski.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 42 years, Garry Junkins of Sanford, a sister, Dorothy Anne Lozowski of Alfred, a brother, James (Hallie) Lozowski of Georgia, daughter and son-in-law, Amy (Michael) Moore of Alfred, and son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Junkins and Courtney Reynolds of Selkirk, NY. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Suzy (AJ) Blum of Rockland and Charleigh Junkins of Selkirk, NY who were the light of her life. Nancy is also survived by her lifelong best friend, Carolann Rines of Wiscasset.
Nancy’s family would like to an extend their sincerest thanks to her amazing friends that were there to provide rides, comradery, and comfort for both she and Garry.
Visiting hours will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale on Thursday, August 22, 2024.
I’ve know Nancy while I was going through stage 3 cancer. She was a great inspiration To me. She was going thru cancer herself. Rest in peace my friend. I will always remember you for for your kindness
60 years of fun, laughter and some tears. You gave so much joy to so many folks. When God made you, He made one of the best. You gave so much joy in one day then others do in their whole lives. Thank you, for our friendship. Pratt Bratt.

Nancy was a strong caring loving lady.. she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
We worked at the same company Sprague.. I worked directly with her sister Dottie.. and went to school with Gary in our younger years..
