Nancy A. Carlton

Nancy A. Carlton, 74, longtime resident of Square Pond, Shapleigh and most recently Springvale, died at her home on Sunday, November 16, 2003.She was born December 7, 1928 in Sanford the daughter of Arthur E. and Mildred (Senior) Allen and graduated from Sanford High School with the Class of 1947. Mrs. Carlton worked as a substitute teacher with S.A.D. 57. She also worked for Kay, the postmaster at the Emery Mills Post Office. Nancy was active with the Eastern Star in Springvale and past member of the Beta Sigma Phi. She loved feeding and watching the birds. Mrs. Carlton relaxed by watching her favorite television shows. Family survivors include her son: John Carlton of Shapleigh and her daughter, Karen (Carlton) Blaisdell of Springvale. 3 Grandchildren, Robin Sargent of Mason, OH; Kevin Blaisdell of Maine and Todd Carlton of Shapleigh. She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Malcolm in 1994 and her son David, in 1999.A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at 2 PM At the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale with the Rev. Susan Kingman, officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114.
