Myrtle Chadbourne

Myrtle R. Chadbourne, 74, of Sanford, passed away on Monday May 2, 2005 at the Newton Center in Sanford. She was born in Eastport, Maine on July 27, 1930, a daughter of Herbert P. Sr.,and Alma M. (McPhail) Smith. She graduated from Shead High School in Eastport Class of 1948.For many years she was employed by the American Can Company in Portland as well as the Portland Jet Port where she worked as a waitress. She retired from Maine Dry Cleaners after 20 years of service. She was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxillary Sanford American Legion Post #19.She is predeceased by her parents as well as her husband, Robert E. Chadbourne Sr., who died on November 15, 2001. She is also predeceased by one sister, Frances Porter, one brother, Herbert P. Smith Jr., one half brother, Raymond Shaw.She is survived by three daughters, Hazel Leskowsky of Sanford, Deborah Hopkins of Vassalboro, Tammy Burovac of Eliot, three sons, Robert E. Chadbourne Sr., of Circleville, OH, Gregory Chadbourne of Sanford, Victor Smith of Youngstown, OH, two brothers, Al Smith of Weldon, CA, Roland Smith of Waldoboro, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday May 4 from 6-8pm at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home 580 Main Street in Springvale where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11am. . Burial will be at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta at a later date.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home 580 Main Street Springvale, Maine.
