Mildred May AustinSanford, MaineMildred May Austin, 86, of Rochester, NH., died May 27, 2001 at The Greenwood Center, Sanford, Maine after a long illness.Born in Sebago Lake, Maine on October 1, 1914 the daughter of Horace and Gertrude Libby Ettinger. She graduated from Standish High School in 1933.She married Stanley Austin of Sebago Lake on October 12, 1937. Lived in Sebago Lake, Maine and later moved to Steep Falls, Maine.Mrs. Austin was a mother of two sons. She was a member of The Eastern Star, The Pythian Sisters and a member of The Standish School Board. She was an active member of her community and The Steep Falls Garden Club. She enjoyed arts and crafts, ceramics and knitting.She and her family moved to Needham, MA. in 1958. She worked there at The Newman School Cafeteria. After retiring she and her husband traveled extensively with family and friends throughout The U.S. and Canada. In the last year they moved to live with their son "Bill" and family in Rochester, NH.A son Robert Austin of Roscoe, NY., passed away in 1989.She is survived by Stanley her husband of 64 years; a son Stanley "Bill" Austin, of Rochester, NH; a brother Francis Ettinger of Rome, NY; 2 grandsons, 3 granddaughters and 2 great granddaughters.Relatives and friends may call from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Heald Funeral Home 580 Main Street, Springvale, Maine. A funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday May 31 at The Sebago Lake Church, Route 35, Standish, Maine.
