Michael A. LeBlanc, 58, affectionately known as "Pinky," died Friday, October 7, 2005 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, NH.Michael was born in Sanford, ME on April 10, 1947 to Rene and Adrienne (Tetreau) LeBlanc. He graduated from Sanford High School in 1965 and later in life, obtained his associates degree from York County Technical College. Following graduation in 1965, Michael served his country in the U.S. Navy until 1969. For the past 25 years, he has been employed as a welder at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Michael was an active person who enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. Some of his favorite outdoor activities included hunting, fishing and playing golf. Shooting pool was also a favorite pastime of his. Michael was a genuinely happy person who made the most out of every day. He had an excellent sense of humor and always seemed to be smiling. His glowing smile and positive attitude was infectious and could brighten the mood in any situation. He was a selfless man who enjoyed and loved his family very much and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.He is survived by his wife, Helen LeBlanc of Sanford, ME; his Parents, Rene and Adrienne LeBlanc of Sanford, ME; a son, Jason LeBlanc, of Baltimore, MD; 3 daughters, Nicole and Peter Turner, of Noblesville, IN; Danielle and Christian Self of Allen, TX; Kristen and Nick Loflin of Palm Bay FL; two grandchildren, Joscelyn and Trent Turner of Noblesville, IN, and a sister, Aurelie and Edward Pfohl, of Syracuse, NY.A period of visitation will be held at Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home located on 29 Winter Street in Sanford, ME on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Church located on North Avenue in Sanford. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 8730, Portland, ME 04104.
