Michael J. Curit, 23 of Sanford died at his home on Thursday evening, December 1, 2005. Michael was born in Sanford on October 4, 1982 to Gerard Gagne and Norma Curit. He graduated in 2001 from Strafford Learning Center in Milton New Hampshire. Mike was a lover of the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as riding snowmobiles, dirt bikes and ATVs. He loved anything that had a motor attached to it; he was a very mechanical person and could often be found tinkering with one machine or another. Michael was constantly buying and selling things. He enjoyed making deals which allowed him to get new motors to work on. He was a collector of many things from knives to lighters; he took particular pride in his large collection of Tiggers. Family functions were always a favorite time for Michael. He enjoyed being around his family and particularly liked playing with his little nieces and nephews, he was a lot like a big kid himself. Mike will be remembered as a kind and fun loving person and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Michael was predeceased by his grandfather, Norman E. Curit in 2002. Surviving are his parents, Gerard Gagne and Norma Curit of Sanford; a brother, James Curit of Sanford; his grandmother and step-grandfather, Jean and Willard Gagnon of East Millinocket; his grandmother Annette Curit of Sanford; an uncle, Pete and Karen Gagne of North Berwick; two aunts, Louann and Glenn Hobson of Alfred and Cindy and Mel Fowler of Greensboro, North Carolina, and many other family and friends. A period of visitation will be held on Monday, December 5, 2005 from 4:00 to 5:30 PM with a funeral following at 5:30 PM at Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, located at 29 Winter Street in Sanford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the Curit Family in care of Lafrance-Lambert and Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford, ME 04073.
