Merrill A. Pazolt, 84 years old of N. Waterboro died early Sunday morning December 14, 2003 at Evergreen Manor in Saco, ME.Mr. Pazolt was born on December 7, 1919 in Wellesley, MA. He was the son of Thomas W. and Mary Elizabeth O'Brien Pazolt. He is a graduate of Revere H.S. and for many years lived and worked in the Saugus area of Massachusetts. Before moving to Maine in the early 60's Mr. Pazolt worked for G.E. in Lynn, MA.Upon his arrival in Maine Mr. Pazolt owned and operated Merrill's Country Store in N. Waterboro from 1969 until retiring in 1984. He was also the proprietor of R&L Trophy.Mr. Pazolt served his community as a building inspector of Waterboro. He was a member of the American Legion, a volunteer fireman, and a member of the Sanford Pigeon Club, where people knew him as "Mr. Wonderful". Mr. Pazolt also proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard.Predeceasing him is his wife Ethel Lundquist Pazolt.Surviving is a son Robert Pazolt of N. Waterboro, ME, a daughter Janice MacKenzie of Bar Mills, ME, a sister Dolly Flynn of Malden, MA, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.A period of visitation will be held on Wednesday December 17, 2003 from 11 to 12 PM followed by a 12 PM funeral service at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale, ME. Committal services will be held in the spring of 2004 at Elder Gray Cemetery.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kennebunk Animal Welfare Society, P.O. Box 43, W. Kennebunk, ME 04094.
