Maurice A. Rouillard, 79 years old, of Sanford, ME died Thursday, January 6, 2005 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. Maurice was born on September 14, 1925 in Sanford, ME. He was the son of Joseph and Rosanna Bruneau Rouillard. Mr. Rouillard attended Sanford schools and like many men at that time was called to serve his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Upon his return home Mr. Rouillard worked for Tennford Weaving, and opened, owned and operated the Pleasant St. Market in Springvale which is now Pleasant Suds.Mr. Rouillard loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time tending to his vegetable garden. He was said to be very handy around the house, and enjoyed gatherings at home with friends and family. For many years Maurice, along with his wife Pauline wintered in Lakeland, Fl. Mr. Rouillard was also a member of the Sanford V.F.W., and a communicant of Notre Dame Church in Springvale.Predeceasing Mr. Rouillard are his parents, a sister Noella Ryder, and a brother Ronald Rouillard.Surviving is his wife of 56 years Pauline D. Moore Rouillard of Sanford; four sons, Roland and Linda Rouillard of Wells, Paul and Maria Rouillard of Dover, NH, Mark Rouillard of Sanford, and Richard and Lisa Rouillard of Sanford; three daughters, Claire and Bob Creteau of Springvale, Doris and Roderick Johnson of Sebring, FL, and Sandra and Mike Houston of Springvale. Also surviving are three sisters; Laurette Bourque of Sanford, Rhea Charpentier of Sanford, and Cecile Bolger of Sanford; thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Friends may call from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM on Sunday January 9, 2004 at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford, ME. An 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Rouillard will be held on Monday January 10th at Notre Dame Church of Springvale.
