Matilda Dawson

SANFORD ME - Matilda Christine (Cloutier) Dawson, 33, of Sanford, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday April 19 2008. She was born on September 7, 1974 in Methuen MA, the daughter of Bessie (Goujon) Arsenault of Sanford and the late Jules Cloutier of Lawrence MA. She attended school in Lawrence until 1992 and received her H.S. GED in 2005.Matilda lived the majority of her life in Lawrence, MA prior to taking residence in Sanford five years ago.As a child and young adult, Matilda had many friends and was always very close to her family. Her favorite activity growing up was playing softball which transitioned to a passion for baseball. As an adult, Matilda was an avid Red Sox fan and attended as many Sea Dogs games as she could. She loved her pug Tinkerbelle who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Matilda was also particularly fond of the beach and enjoyed taking in sunsets with the love of her life Kelley. The greatest blessing in her life was the gift of love and affection she felt for her daughter Amanda. She also shared a special bond with her mother Bessie that few people will attain in their lifetime. Those who knew Matilda will remember her most for her kind heart and generous nature.She is survived by her husband of 6 years, Kelley Dawson of Sanford; beloved daughter Amanda Larocque of Springvale, her mother and stepfather Bessie and Steven Arsenault of Sanford, a sister Sabrina Cloutier of Biddeford, a brother and sister-in-law, Mathieu and Brenda Cloutier along with their children Mathieu and Alyssa of Salem NH; and a very large extended family including many uncles, aunts and cousins that will miss her dearly.Relatives and friends may call on Friday, April 25, 2008 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.Flowers may be sent to the funeral home and donations sent to Bessie Arsenault at 60 Payne St. Springvale, ME 04083.To leave the family a message of condolence please use the "condolences" tab to the left.
