Maryann Rose Vachon, 82, of Sanford, died peacefully at her home on March 29, 2022, with her family by her side. Maryann was born on February 27, 1940, to William and Fedora (Frechette) Labbe in Biddeford where she grew up and attended local schools. When she was a young woman, she worked for several years at the Eastern Slope Inn in North Conway. She also worked for several years at Bob's Diner in Sanford which she owned and operated with her husband. Maryann was an avid bingo player and was known to travel to bingo halls all over Southern Maine and New Hampshire to play a game. She had been a communicant of St. Ignatius Parish and then St. Therese of Lisieux Parish in Sanford. She was a loving and devoted mother and memere and loved spending time with her family. She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. Maryann was predeceased by her husband, Robert Vachon, and by her siblings, Henry, Leo, Gerard, Gerald, Richard, Lucille, and Reginald. Surviving are three children, Michelle Murray and her husband Jack of Sanford, Mona Beauchesne of Sanford and Christina Davis and her husband Brett of Hollis; three grandchildren, Heidi Murray of Biddeford, Nicholas Sotir of Gray and Sydney Sotir of Hollis; five siblings, Lorenzo, Lorraine, Phil, Aline, Rachel and many, many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, April 3rd at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home located at 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 4th at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to Hospice of Southern Maine, 390 US Route 1, Scarborough, ME 04074 Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.

  1. I was so sad to read of Mary Anns passing. Have not seen her since Covid arrived. Before that we would see each other almost every night at Somersworth bingo. It is so strange because I just thinking of her the other day and thought I should send her an email. Last contact was on her birthday. May you all find peace and comfort as you are going through this difficult time. Special thoughts and prayers to you all.
