SOUTH PORTLAND - Mary M. Seader, 87, of South Portland, died September 3, 2011, at Maine Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was born June 9, 1924, in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of Charles Corrado and Jennie DiPhilippo Corradini. She attended North School in Portland and Portland High School. Mary worked for the city of Portland in the Assessor's Office, Munjoy Health Station, and the Barron Center. She retired in 1984 and was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the City with receipt of the Key to the City. As a young woman she began singing professionally. She sang for over 60 years throughout New England, most notably with the Don Doane Band. She was an active donor with the Red Cross and received awards for her many years of service and achieving over 400 platelet donations. She is a former member and past president of the VFW Woman's Auxiliary in South Portland. She is predeceased by her parents and a sister Anna Cardone. She is survived by two daughters, Jennie Seader of Charleston, South Carolina, and Alexis Seader of Portland; four sons; Alexander Seader IV, Thomas Seader of Portland, and Alan and Scot Seader both of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Dolly Dearborne of Portland and Rita Corradini of Scarborough; a brother, Lawrence Philip Corradini of Lady of the Lake, Florida; four grandchildren, a great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to South Portland Fire and Rescue, the staff of Maine Medical Center, and their deepest gratitude to best friend, Gloria McCullough. Visiting hours will be held 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Tuesday, at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. A funeral service will be held 9:00 am, Wednesday, at the chapel.
