Mary Ann Weston

Florida - Mary Ann (Bannon) Weston, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, formerly of Buxton, Maine, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 6, 2016, following a lengthy illness. She was 79 years of age. Born in Machias, Maine, on July 24, 1936, daughter of Edward and Madeline (McGuire) Bannon. Raised and educated in Machias. Mary Ann received her RN from Boston Childrens Hospital and later her Bachelors Degree in Social Work from the University of Maine. She was a Registered Nurse for the State of Maine before her retirement. Mary Ann would like to be remembered for how much she loved her family and friends, loved her Irish heritage and always enjoyed her job as a Public Health Nurse. A devout Catholic, Mary Ann was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church in South Portland, and more recently St. Marks Catholic Church in Southwest Ranches, Florida. Her biggest disappointment in life was not having children of her own but she loved to spoil her kitties, Shamus and Rosie, and was the most beloved Auntie M to all of her nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister Sara Sally Reifsnyder; sister in law, Fleurette Bannon; and many loving nieces and nephews from the Bannon, Cates, DeCarolis, Fogel ,Healy, Reifsnyder, and Trevithick families. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Bannon, Patricia Trevithick and her brother, James Bannon. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, March 11th at 2:30 P.M. at St. Marks Catholic Church, Flamingo Road, Southwest Ranches, Florida. A memorial service will be held at Conroy Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday April 16, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland. Mary Ann was a wonderful friend who became part of our family. We will miss her at holidays and birthday parties and other special family events. We will always remember how she made us laugh (even in Church!). We love you and will miss you, Mary Ann.

Mary Ann became a dear friend as we shared our public health days and beyond.
