Marviline I. Luneau, 98, of Kittery, died on Monday, April 3, 2023, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Marviline was born in Topeka, Kansas on December 12, 1924, and was raised in Beaver Court, Oklahoma. She was raised as an only child and was very close to her mother. Her mother was not a healthy woman while Marviline was growing up, so she had to learn to help out with things from a very young age. Marviline was the mother of two children, a son, and a daughter, but unfortunately lost her son to leukemia when he was a young boy. When she was younger, she had worked as a nurse’s aid and then as a weaver in a textile mill. In her spare time, one of her favorite hobbies was dancing. Even though Marviline faced a lot of sadness and difficulties during her life, she never let that break her spirit. She believed in loving freely and unconditionally, always being kind and sweet and never holding a grudge. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. Marviline was predeceased by her son John Henry Payeur. Surviving are her daughter, Anita Fortin; three grandchildren, John Fortin and his wife Michelle, Emile Fortin and Tammy Roberts and her husband Steven and eight great-grandchildren, Angelina, Allen, Abby Lilly Emmy Jalynn and Rylie. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 8th at Notre Dame Cemetery located on Payne Street in Springvale, Maine. Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
