Marjorie WardWarren, MEMarjorie A. Ward, 79, of Warren, ME, formerly of Alfred, ME, died early Monday morning October 8, 20001 at the Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta, ME.Mrs. Ward was born on December 11, 1921 in Lynn, MA. She was the daughter of Burton and Annie Sherman Coy. She was raised, and spent most of her time in Massachusetts and graduated from Saugus High School. For many years Mrs. Ward worked as a Quality Control Inspector for North American Electronics.Mrs. Ward was said to be a wonderful seamstress. She would design and make her own clothing as well as volunteering her abilities as a seamstress to local nursing homes in the Sanford, and Alfred area. She greatly enjoyed knitting, and helping out others. She volunteered for the meals on wheels program and was a member of the Sweet Adeline singing group.Her husband Russell B. Ward predeceased her in 1991.Surviving is a son Edward S. Ward of Warren, ME; two daughters, Joan and Robert Cashen of Exeter, NH, Janet and Warren Bingham of Lower Waterford, VT; a brother Dick Coy of Alfred, and a sister Dorothy Thompson also of Alfred. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.A period of visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a 12:00 PM funeral service on Thursday October 11, 2001. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Alfred.
