Marjorie Hamilton Gardner, age 101, of Lost Mile Road, Parsonsfield, Maine, died Monday March 1st at the Southridge Nursing Home in Biddeford, Maine. Her husband, Cameron H. Gardner, and daughters Janet Perkins and Virginia Tushin, predeceased her.She leaves one daughter, Marjorie E. Neal of Sutton, MA, seven grandchildren, Melinda Tushin Cushman of Parsonsfield, with whom she lived, Mark Tushin of San Francisco, CA, Matthew Tushin of Saco, ME, Deborah Perkins Springer of West Newfield, ME, Cathy Neal Williams of Henniker, NH, David Neal of Sutton, MA, and Rebecca Neal Gagnebin of Wayland, MA, fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Gardner was born on August 10, 1902 in Calais, ME, daughter of Cora and Ellis Dennis. She graduated from Girls Latin High School in Boston, MA, where she excelled in sports. She resided in Needham, Massachusetts, worked as a secretary for Sandler Shoe Company in Needham and retired to Parsonsfield in 1975. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and ceramics. She was a member of the West Newfield Congregational Church and a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star. As the oldest resident of Parsonsfield, she received the Boston Post Cane at her 100th birthday celebration in August 2002.Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 4, 2004 at the West Newfield Congregational Church. A coffee hour will follow the services. Burial will be in Needham, Massachusetts.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the West Newfield Congregational Church, West Newfield, ME 04095.
