M. Starr Fredette, 44, died unexpectedly, November 29, 2003 at Goodall Hospital in Sanford.She was born September 8, 1959 in Derry, NH a daughter of John R. and Vivian (Tucker) Fredette. Starr grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts and received her education there. She went through the Job Corp program in Maine and became a certified nursing aide. Starr's main interest was being a Community /HIV Health Educator with the Aids Project of Worcester, MA.She was an activist and lobbied State Senators for money and educational opportunities for those with HIV.Starr loved animals and acquired a collection of fish that she adored. She had an African Clown Knife - which she named "Steamship", a catfish, named "Pouty" and two parrot fishes named "Smiley and "Mr. P." She had just received a tiger kitten and named her "Tigger."An independent spirit - she had strong beliefs in prayer and meditation. She enjoyed singing and all types of music.Family members include two sisters: Beverly Sinclair of No. Waterboro and Diana Rogers of McBee, So. Carolina. Also, eight nieces, nephews and eight grand nieces and nephews. And, Her special friend, Ruby Dame of No. Waterboro. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, Dec.6, 2003 At 11:00 AM Pine Grove Cemetery, North, Waterboro with Rev. Robert Irish, officiating. There will be no calling hours.Memorial donations are encouraged to the Aids Project, 163 Lancaster Street- Suite 160B, Portland, ME 04101 or to the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, ME 04083 to assist the family with funeral expenses.
