Marion W. Pray

Marion W. Pray, 90 years old, of Sanford, ME died Monday August 8, 2005 in Houlton, ME.Mrs. Pray was born in Sanford, ME on May 23, 1915. She was the daughter of the late Everett C. and Fonnie I. Townes Welch. She was a graduate of Sanford High School. For several years Mrs. Pray worked at the Sanford Shoe, and the Aleta Dress Company.Mrs. Pray was a member of the Sanford First Baptist Church and previously assisted in the Ladies Aid. She also volunteered at the Old timers Shop for several years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and caring for her elderly friends.Predeceasing her is her husband Donald B. Pray and their daughter Clara Smilie a twin sister Mildred Littlefield, a sister Pauline Leslie and three brothers, Otis and Roger Welch, and Paul Townes.Surviving is a son Donald E. Pray of Lebanon, a daughter Ada A. Lehoux of Sanford, ME, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.Visiting hours for Mrs. Pray will be held Thursday August 11th from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale, ME; where services will be held on Friday the 12th at 10:30 AM.
