Marie Blanche Morin, age 96, formerly of Lebanon St., died Saturday at the Newton Center following a long illness. She was born in Ponbriant P.Q. Canada on August 7, 1908, the youngest of nine children to Cyrille and Georgianna (Perreault) Pomerleau.She was educated in Canada, moved to Sanford in 1926, and was employed at the former Universal Shoe Company of Sanford as well as the former Novalty Shoe Company of Springvale for over 40 years.She was a long time communicant of St. Ignatius Church, the altar society, as well as a member of the Ladies of Ste. Anne both Notre Dame and St. Ignatius Parishes.She was predeceased in life by her parents, and four brothers and sisters.Surviving are three daughters; Theresa Lefebvre of Franklin, NH, Mrs. Ronald (Orietta) Schildt of North Berwick, and Monique Clough of Sanford; seven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St. Sanford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 :00 AM in St. Ignatius Church. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Springvale.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Newton Center Activity Fund at 35 July St., Sanford ME 04073.
