Marie Pauline Morgan, 79, of Sanford, passed away on February 18, 2024, at Pinnacle Health Care in Sanford. Born on November 24, 1944, to Albert and Alma Gauvreau in Sanford, Marie led a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community.
Pauline attended local schools in Sanford and graduated from St. Ignatius School. She further pursued her passion for cosmetology, attending Pierre's School of Beauty in Portland. Over the years, Pauline dedicated herself to her career in the beauty industry, starting with employment at various salons and eventually owning her own establishments, Pauline's Beauty Salon and The Looking Glass Salon. Her work as a stylist was not just a job but an art form that she approached with pride and dedication.
As a Christian, Pauline loved The Lord and actively participated in her church community. She devoted countless hours to volunteering, knitting hats for children, packing boxes for missions abroad and participating in children's ministry. She was known for her generosity, always ready to provide meals and assistance to those in need. Her day began with a cup of coffee and her Bible, a routine that reflected her unwavering faith.
Pauline cherished her children, Kathy Morgan of Fairfield and Ken Morgan of Spofford, NH. She instilled in them a passion for music that they carry with them. She had love of nature, and outdoor adventures. Trips to the lake, ocean, and walks in the woods created lasting memories. She passed on her enthusiasm for camping and had a green thumb when it came to houseplants and gardening.
As a proud grandmother, Pauline shared a special bond with Brandon Morgan of Berwick, Devin Morgan of Wells, and Linnea Bright Morgan of Spofford, NH. Her great-grandchildren, Selah, Harmony, and Aleeah Morgan, Rheya Softy, and Ivy Adjutant, brought joy to her later days.
Survivors include her siblings Robert Gauvreau of NY, Madeline Bertrand of Sanford, Louise Boulet of MA, and several nieces and nephews. Marie is predeceased by her brothers Louis and Paul Gauvreau.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at Sanford First Baptist Church, 905 Main St. in Sanford. Marie will be remembered for her kindness, selflessness, and the positive impact she made on the lives of those around her. May she rest in peace.
