Marguerite A. Jordan

Marguerite A. Jordan, 88, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at the Newton Center in Sanford.She was born the 11th. Child of John and Susie (Roberts) Pollock and grew up and attended school in Alfred. Marguerite married William C. Jordan, Jr. in 1940 and enjoyed caring for her family before entering the workforce. She made her home in Sanford since 1954 and worked as a housekeeper for Nasson College and worked in private homes in the area. In her younger years, Mrs. Jordan loved ballroom dancing and ice-skating. She enjoyed taking bus trips and meeting the different folks who joined along. Mrs. Jordan attended the No. Parish Congregational Church located on Main Street in Sanford.Survivors include one son: John and his wife, Sherri Jordan of Sanford; three daughters, Francis Gilpatrick and Shirley Stone both of Sanford and Susie Jordan of Biddeford. Also, 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband, William C. Jordan, Jr. in 1984 and by her older siblings. Everyone who knew her loved her and will always remember her smile.A Graveside Service will be Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 11:00 am at Evergreen Cemetery in Alfred. There will be no calling hours.
