Margaret E. Marceau 1938-2024 SPRINGVALE—Margaret E. Marceau, 86, of Springvale, died Sunday July 7, 2024 in Sanford. She was born in Shapleigh, March 18, 1938 the daughter of Edward and Marcella Brown. She grew up in several towns, including Shapleigh, Springvale and Auburn. She graduated from Edward Little High School. Later in life, she graduated from the LPN program at Maine Medical Center in 1967-1968. She worked at Goodall Hospital in Sanford in the surgical care floor and emergency departments. Later, she worked as the Nurse and Office Manager for Dr. Patel in Sanford and then retired from Greenwood Nursing Home as a Nursing Supervisor. Margaret loved all animals, especially her dogs Daisy and BJ, horses and cats. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, knitting and crocheting, playing cards and Yahtzee with her favorite Sister-in-Law, Irene. Later in life, she and her long-time companion, Ernie enjoyed stock car racing and going to races at Beech Ridge Speedway, and Nascar races. Whether in person or watching on TV, she always cheered on her favorite driver Dale Earnhardt. Some of her favorite memories were going to NC and visiting members of the Earnhardt family. She also enjoyed going to the beach, looking for sand dollars. Mrs. Marceau was predeceased by her brothers, Merle and Stephen Brown and her sister, Florence Rowell. She is survived by her daughter Carol Marceau as well as several nieces and nephews. Carol would like to thank the many caregivers at Huntington Commons, Summer Commons and special thanks to Dr. Patel, Dr. Akom, Dr. Goudreau and Dr. Lazos for their compassion and care. At Margaret’s request there will be no services at this time. A small graveside service will be announced at a later date.

  3. Aunt Peggy, as a child groing up so sick the way I was, you were the only one who wasn’t afraid to let me visit without the rest of my family. I was able to come spend over nites with you, Uncle Royal and Carol. Always had fun and enjoyed your cooking, I have never forgotten nor will I ever for get it. Especially the Love, Laughter and going places with you all. You will continue to live within my heart as you always have. Love you.
