Margaret Lessard

Margaret 'Roddy' Lessard, 93, of Shapleigh, a longtime resident of Springvale, died April 17 at home.She was born in Berwick on March 25, 1912, the daughter of Daniel F. and Mamie (Lavigne) Rodden. She was a graduate of Berwick Academy and a 1933 graduate of the former H. D. Goodall School of Nursing in Sanford.She worked as a registered nurse in Maine and Massachusetts. At the time of her retirement in 1963 she was the Obstetrical Supervisor at Goodall Hospital in Sanford.She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church in Springvale.Her husband, Wilfred H. Lessard, died in 1977.Survivors include a niece, Lorraine Creteau of Sanford, a cousin Robert Collins of Bedford, NH, and several grandnieces and grandnephews.Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 AM in Notre Dame Church. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare Society, P. O.
