Margaret Hoffman, 71, of Lebanon, died at her home Monday, May 30, 2005.Maggie was born on November 11, 1933 in Bismark, North Dakota to Johannes and Olga Tonessen Omundsen. She attended Schools in Brooklyn, New York where she graduated from high school in 1951. In 1953, she married her husband, Robert Hoffman and together they had seven children.Mrs. Hoffman was an avid reader, she enjoyed knitting, doing needlepoint, and loved to play scrabble. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Center Lebanon, she was also an active member of the Thursday Morning Bible Study and the Tuesday Afternoon Sewing Group.The most important things to Maggie in life were her family, friends, and her church involvement. She will be remembered for her for love and dedication as wife, mother and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Hoffman was predeceased by a son, Robert Hoffman; a grandson, Patrick Brown; and two brothers, John and George Omundsen.Surviving are her husband of more than 50 years, Robert Hoffman; six daughters, Linda Lloyd of Lebanon, Christine Truitt of Dover, Delaware, Barbara Bridge of Lebanon, Lisa Langley of Lebanon, Margaret Gregoire of Limerick, and Amy Donley of Parsonsfield; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; three sisters Mary LaGray of Brooklyn, NY, Judith Olsen of Zephre Hills, FL, and Evelyn Hunter of Brooklyn, NY, and two brothers, Robert Omundsen of Staten Island, NY and Richard Omundsen of Brooklyn, NY.A period of visitation will be held at Carll-Heald and Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale, on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 10:00 AM at the First Congregational Church in Center Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the First Congregational Church, P.O. Box 157, Lebanon, ME 04027.
