Margaret Frechette

Margaret A. Frechette, 82, of North Berwick, formerly of Sanford, died on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Pinnacle Health and Rehabilitation in North Berwick.
Margaret was born on July 3, 1939 to Dennis and Margaret (Sharp) Lizotte in Sanford where she grew up and attended local schools, graduating from Sanford High School in 1957. Shortly after graduation she married Richard Frechette and together they raised two children and shared 56 years of marriage until his death in 2013.
During her working life, Margaret held several jobs including working as a cashier at Chasse's Grocery Store in Sanford, in the office at Pare Oil and finally at Sprague Electric where she stayed for many years until her retirement.
Margaret lived a life that was devoted to her church and to her family. She was a devout Catholic and had been involved in church life in many different ways though the years. She and her husband had helped to direct RCIC in the Parish for many years and had sponsored many children though the process. They had also been very involved in the Cursillo Movement. She served as a Eucharistic minister and brought the Eucharist to the sick and homebound for many years. She also served on the Parish Council and volunteered to assist in counting the collections each Monday for many years. Margaret was a kind and loving woman and was devoted to her family. She cherished the time that she spent with them and particularly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a shining example of what it means to be a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Richard Frechette and by her sister, Frances Roberge.
Surviving are her children, Diane Tapscott and her husband Nathan of Sanford and Michael Frechette, Sr. of Sanford; four grandchildren, Nicholas Tapscott and Lacey of Springvale, Jonathan Tapscott of Sanford, Michael Frechette, Jr. of Dover and Damien Frechette of Sanford; three great-grandchildren, Carter, Mason and Tiana; her brother, Alfred Lizotte and his wife Lynn of Sanford and two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Frechette of North Berwick and Joyce Frechette of Sanford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 27th at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford. Interment will follow at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery located on Stanley Road in Springvale.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to St Thomas School, 69 North Avenue, Sanford, Maine 04073.
Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
