Madeline F. Parker, "Maddie" 76, of Jellerson Road, East Waterboro, died at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, June 30, 2004. She was born June 21, 1928 in New Rochelle, NY a daughter of Albert and Mary (Kroist) Provost and at an early age she lived with her Aunt Mabel and Uncle Fred Gingue in Biddeford. Madeline attended local schools and graduated from Biddeford High School. Being a responsible and dependable worker, she owned and operated a meat business called Homeway Product for over 11 years. She was later employed with Sprague Electric, retiring after 25 years of dedicated service. While there, Madeline took advantage of several company trips. She traveled with her co-workers and friends to Africa, Europe and Spain. Madeline enjoyed candlepin bowling and played on a Sunday night League in Sanford. She loved to pick blueberries with her husband. When she stopped talking, he knew she had found a good berry bush! Sometimes, a storm would be brewing and she had to make sure the bush was picked clean before they could head for home. Madeline loved Christmas. Decorating the tree was her job. Even though it would take days to complete - she insisted the tree stay up till New Year. She was an excellent cook and took great care in canning and preserving some of the summertime vegetables and fruits. Mrs. Parker was a devoted wife and mother. She watched her children ride in many horse shows. One day, Maddie even rode in a class - And, she laughed through out the whole program. Madeline was called "Maddie" by several of her friends. She enjoyed her nickname and enjoyed talking with many of her friends on her CB radio. Her call name was Mad Pat.She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William O. Parker of East Waterboro; her son and his wife, William A. Parker and Jennie of Acton; her daughters, Faye J. Whitten and her husband, Franklin of East Waterboro; and Sharon A. Oliver and her husband, Steven of East Waterboro; and Leone Swett and her fiance, David Brown of North Waterboro. Also, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. At the East Waterboro Free Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Storey, officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in So. Waterboro. There will be no visiting hours.Memorial donations may be made to the Waterboro Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 219, Waterboro, ME 04087.
