M. Irene Foss

M. Irene Foss, 91, of Sokokis Trail North, North Waterboro, died Friday evening at her home following a long illness. She was born in Limerick, January 13, 1911, the daughter of John L. and Florence (Carroll) Burnham.She had lived in North Waterboro since her marriage to Fred L. Foss in 1930. He died in 1967. Mrs. Foss attended Limerick schools and was employed as a Jack Spooler at the former Limerick Yarn Mills for about 25 years. She then worked as a Nurse's Aid at various local nursing homes until she retired.Mrs. Foss was a member of the North Waterboro Community Baptist Church and the Waterboro Historical Society. She was also a Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star and was a member of the Rehoboth Rebekah Lodge #79 in East Waterboro.Mrs. Foss is survived by several cousins.A visiting hour will be held Monday, June 2, from 12 to 1 PM at the North Waterboro Community Baptist Church, followed by a funeral service at 1 PM. The Rev. Timothy Hutchins will officiate. A time of fellowship and refreshment will then be held in the church vestry, followed by interment in Oakdale Cemetery, Sanford.For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to Waterboro Ambulance Fund, P.
