Lucille Hooper

Lucille B. Dion Hooper, 79, of Kennebunk, formerly of Sanford, passed away on Thursday August 16, 2007 at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford. She was born in Sanford on January 26, 1928 a daughter of Leo and Aline Belanger. She attended local Sanford schools graduating from St. Ignatius High School in 1947.On July 5, 1952 she married her first husband Jean R. Dion and they were together for 23 years until his passing on December 29, 1975. On May 16, 1990 she married Col. Everett Hooper and they were together 14 years until his passing on December 21, 2004.For many years Lucille worked as a secretary in the Sanford shoe shops, the Groton Naval Base and at Nasson College.She is predeceased by her first husband, Jean R. Dion, her second husband, Col. Everett Hooper.She is survived by her two daughters, Celia Doucette and her husband, Charles of Lewiston, Jane Weed of Falmouth, four grandchildren, Nathan Doucette and his companion Laura Olehowski of Portland, Kaitlin Doucette of Lewiston, Tyler Weed of Alaska and Rebecca Weed of South Carolina, two sisters, Theresa Belanger of Rye, NY and Jeannine Ackroyd and her husband Wallace of Naples, FL.A graveside service will be held at a later date to be announced at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery in Sanford.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale
