Louise J. Wood

Louise Jean Wood, 68, of Sanford, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.She was born October 6, 1947 to Richard Hervey and Pauline (Fisher) Hervey in Rochester, NH. She graduated from Spaulding High School in Rochester and earned her bachelor's degree from Plymouth State College in Plymouth, NH. Louise taught school in Rochester and Wells, ME before becoming a stay-at-home mother to raise her two children. She was active in the community and could often be seen assisting the Sanford Lions Club with their activities. She also loved to cheer on the lacrosse and field hockey teams for which her daughter served as coach. She enjoyed decorating her house for the holidays and spending time with her many friends. Kaelin, Blaine, and the rest of the Jack family held a special place in her heart. She was a warm, generous and caring soul who will be missed dearly.Louise is survived by her husband of 45 years, Perry E. Wood of Sanford; one son, Michael L. Wood and companion Raina Ames; and one daughter, Marcia L. Wood and wife Lisa Goldberg. Her family would like to thank the staff at New England Cancer Specialists of Kennebunk, ME.
