Louise Elsie Bshara, 93, of Sanford, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday July 23, 2005 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. She was born on March 29, 1912 in Sanford a daughter of Angelo and Effie (Willey) Lenzi. She grew up in Sanford and attended local schools.During her high school years she taught canoeing at Camp Laughing Loon. She played basketball and excelled in office skills and shorthand, which led her to graduate with a medal in shorthand achievement. She also worked in a local donut shop, always telling us "you didn't get days off". After graduating from Sanford High School she was hired by the Sanford Chamber of Commerce. While working for the Chamber she had a chance to be the first lady to fly in a plane at the Sanford Airport. She also worked at the Alfred Courthouse as a court stenographer and in the office of probate and deeds. She worked many years for the Willard Law Office in the present SIS bank building. In addition she worked in her parents at the Lenzi Variety store in Sanford. She bought lake property as a single woman on Mousam Lake.On October 5, 1940 she married Michael Bshara. They founded Brown Brothers Wholesale Company with her brother; Henry Lenzi and she managed the business office for the company. She was an avid photographer, a wonderful cook and seamstress and homemaker. As an extremely well organized person she was always able to balance business and home issues. She loved to dance and found time to be as Girl Scout Leader as well as devoting many hours to St. George's Episcopal Church in Sanford. She enjoyed watching all the Celtics and Red Sox games and was an avid reader. The joy of her life was her four grandchildren and she saw them all graduate from college-the Univ. of Maine, St. Anselm College, Holy Cross College and Bentley College. The lake cottage she bought in 1937 held all the summer memories for these four grandchildren as they grew up and to this day they still continue to make new memories there She was a bright special woman who touched many hearts and had much wisdom. Her calm demeanor, inner strength and loyalty to her family will always be with us.She is predeceased by her husband, Michael Bshara. She is survived by one son, Jerry Bshara, of Sanford, one daughter, Elaine Livermore and her husband, John, of Acton, MA, grandchildren, Michael L. Bshara and his wife, Kristen of Millbury, MA, Jamie A. Bshara and his wife, Kelli of Shapleigh, April Livermore and Will Livermore, of Framingham, MA, her niece in Florida, Lorraine Savage and family, Betty and Arthur Montpelier and family of Cape Elizabeth and George and Normand Naimey and their families in Portland.At her request there will be no Funeral. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 6 at 1pm at St. George's Episcopal Church in Sanford.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home 580 Main Street, Springvale, Maine.
