Lorraine C. Sevigny, 102 years of age, of Springvale, Maine, passed away on April 19, 2026.
Lorraine was born on November 9, 1923, to Joseph and Delima (Dubois) Thibeault.
In 1942, Lorraine met Ernest G. Sevigny and were married on May 8th, 1943. Lorraine and Ernest went on to raise 16 children together, (10 girls and 6 boys), which included 2 sets of twins.
She will be sorely missed by all. She was a caring and loving Mom, Mémère, Grandmémère and Aunt. She attended local schools. She loved to cook, sew and made a lot of our clothes. She taught her daughters to be very good cooks. She enjoyed going up Northern Maine on “the 7E Island” where her husband built their camp. Holidays were always very busy. She so loved her visits from her children; there was always standing room only! Mom always said she wanted 4 children and had 4 times that amount, always saying she would not change it. She loved us all. She wanted to live to reach 100 and she succeeded. She was a devout Catholic, attending Notre Dame Parish in Springvale, and later St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish in Sanford.
Lorraine was pre-deceased by her husband, Ernest G. Sevigny (August 7th, 1999), parents Joseph (Delima) Thibeault, Siblings, Gerard (Betty) Thibeault, Aldege (June) Thibeault, Robert (Lucille) Thibeault).
She was also pre-deceased by her brothers and sister-in laws, Omer (Juliet) Sevigny, Albert (Lucille) Sevigny, Francis (Alberta) Sevigny, Roger (Annette) Sevigny, Alma (Giles) D’Orvilliers, Clarie (Robert) Allaire, Aurora (Renauld) Beland, Irene Martel, and Bertha (Charles) Lavertu, granddaughter, Diana Alice Roy, and son-in law, Brian R. Emard.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Richard (Ruth) Sevigny, Laurence (Gayla) Sevigny, Stella (Bertrand) LaCharite, Elaine (Thomas) Drummey, Rebecca (Richard) Doucette, Brenda (Raymond) Roy, Edwin (Elaine) Sevigny, Frederic (Joy) Sevigny, Constance (David) Shelley, Janet Emard, Janice (Brian) Paul, Andrew (Linda) Sevigny, Mitchell (Michele) Sevigny, Margaret (Stephen) Caron, Christine Rodriguez, and Corinne (Kenneth) Plante.

This beautiful woman, I will be with her one day in heaven to tell her I love her.
In my eternal rest, I hope to see her one day in the heaven.

Cousin Lorraine defined the word “gracious”.. she had the gift of making whoever she was talking with to feel like the most special in the room. She leaves an enviable legacy. “To know her was to love her.” Her spirit lives on……….
Mitch and Micky, Please accept my sincerest condolences on the loss of your mom. She must have been an extraordinary woman. God bless and keep her until you are together again.
You only get one Mom. She’s The Mom. The one who loves all her children the most & would do most anything for her children. Wow, what a job she did with so many (16 of us) and gave us a good upbringing with good morals, respect and dignity. This world of mine has a void & a lost that can only be filled with the memory of past good times with her. Your smile, your good attitude through to the end was amazing and your strength will be remembered as an example to us all. May Almighty God keep you. Until the day arises, to see you again with open arms & tender affection.
Mom loved the singer, Connie Frances, so here is a beautiful song to you, Mom, from me. It’s called: “Mamma”. I implore all to look it up and listen to it; so Beautiful. (posting the link was not possible but the words are below because part of the song Connie sings is in Italian).
“When the evening shadows fall, and the lovely day is through, then with longing, I recall, the days I spent with you. Oh Mamma, just for you my song takes flight. Mamma, you will be with me; you will never be alone again. How much I love you. These words of love. That I whisper from my heart. Perhaps they are no longer in fashion. Oh, Mama. But my most beautiful song is you. You are life itself. And for all of life, I will never leave you again. Safe in the glow of your love, sent from the heaven above. Nothing can ever replace, the warmth of your tender embrace. Oh, Mama, until the day that we’re together once more. I’ll live in these memories, until the day we’re together once more. Oh, Mama, My Mama.”
Love You Mom, Always remembered and Forever in my heart. Kisses & Hugs.
To all the Sevigny family, my heartfelt condolences. It was through my dearest friends Andy and Linda that I met Mrs. Sevigny and actually I got to meet most of you as well. A life well lived! That is the simple fact of it. Your mother welcomed me as if I were one of her own. She had the most radiant smile and skin that would put all cosmetics to shame! She was a humble, gentle woman who never sought the spotlight, but that is truly where she belonged. So many things I admired about her, but chief among them was her ability to truly listen to people, to look in their eyes and make them feel special. There is far too little of that today. Your mother oozed love from her pores….that is “wicked” cool! Her legacy will thrive through each generation of you. I know you miss her, but this is time to celebrate a truly remarkable woman. It has been my privilege to have known Lorraine and by extension, so many of you. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, Paul & Betsy Littlefield
Rest well, Mrs. Sevigney. A life well lived.B
