Lois J. Ryea, 93, of Sanford, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022 at the Pinnacle Nursing Home in Sanford. She was born in Leonardo, New Jersey on July 15, 1929 a daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Ballard) Dykeman. In 1949 she married Clifford R. Ryea Jr., and together they shared 64 years of marriage and raised seven children. Lois and Clifford moved to Maine in 1976. Lois then worked for many years as a CNA at several local Nursing Homes. Until declining health prohibited her she was an active member of the Sanford First Baptist Church in Sanford. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is predeceased by her husband, Clifford R. Ryea Jr, who passed in 2014, a son, Brian Ryea, daughter, Karen Wagers, two brothers, Robert Dykeman and Ralph Dykeman. She is survived by her children, Linda Hence of Ashford, CT, Laura Paulson of North Darthmouth, MA, Larry Ryea of Sanford, John Ryea of Rochester, NH, Matt Ryea of Alfred as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, August, 2nd from 6 to 8PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11AM at Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford. Spent time sitting on deck with her holidays shared laughs ,Happy times and sad times and many adventures Many years of memories I will allways and forever treasure my time with you mom I promised you I will take care of John and Joshua they are my life ,I know you will be watching over all of us You will allways be close to my heart

  3. I knew Lois and Clifford as well through church. A couple of us would go and visit and bring communion to the both of them. Once Clifford passed, we continued with visiting her. She was such a sweet lady. She will be missed
