Portland - Linda Jean (Webb) Aceto, 73, passed away on May 1, 2024. Linda was born in Alexandria, Virginia to the late Charles Edward and Helen Jean (Millpaugh) Webb. She graduated from Fort Hunt High School and later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from George Washington University, followed by a MAIS in Interdisciplinary Studies from George Mason University. Linda had a passion for learning and was an accomplished artist and published author. She worked at the Fairfax Park Authority in Virginia and as a swim aerobics instructor in Maine. Linda met and married Christopher Aceto, and they relocated to Maine after Christopher's retirement. An avid gardener, Linda always maintained a beautiful yard and offered great gardening advice. After the loss of her husband, Chris, she reconnected with her childhood sweetheart, Michael Tyree, and the two married in December 2023. Linda enjoyed peanut toast and tea or coffee in the morning, and loved listening to country and western music. She was predeceased by her brother, Stephen Webb; her former husband, Christopher Aceto; a cousin, Becky Grush; and many beloved pets, including Annie. Linda is survived by her husband, Michael Tyree of Portland; stepson, Matthew Tyree of Maryland; cousins, Deborah Krainski of MA, Cindy Wood of OH, Pam Carither of MA; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Duffy. Michael extends his heartfelt thanks to Tommy and Jamie for their unwavering support, Diane Walker for her help during Linda's illness, Melissa for walking Linda's beloved dog, Linda Clare for being her confidant and special friend, Chris Daniels the gardener, Keith Roy and his family, Alethea Coley for home death care, and the staff at St. Joseph's Rehab and Northern Light Hospice for their compassionate care. A graveside service will be held at Eastern Cemetery in Gorham at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home of Portland.
