Lillian H. Merrifield

Lillian H. Merrifield, 83 years old of Sanford, died Monday morning June 30, 2003 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital.Mrs. Merrifield was a graduate of Sanford High School and a member of the North Parish Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday school. She volunteered her time at the Louise B. Goodall Library where she was a storyteller to many young children. Mrs. Merrifield was also an avid reader and former Girl Scout leader.Predeceasing her is her husband Wendell D. Merrifield, two brothers and a sister.Surviving are two sons, Calvin and John Merrifield, and two daughters, Elaine Martin, and Marsha Caron all of Sanford. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, July 1, 2003 from 6 to 8 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, Springvale. A 10:00 AM funeral service will be held on Wednesday the 2nd at the North Parish Congregational Church in Sanford. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Louise B. Goodall Library, Children's Section.
