Lillian Dow

Lillian Jean "Mickey" Dow, 57, of 3 North Avenue, died unexpectedly Thursday, January 13, 2005 at Goodall Hospital in Sanford. She was born in Sanford, February 15, 1947, the daughter of Everett A. and Melba (Curit) Dow.Mickey was raised in Sanford and also lived in Freeport for many years and returned to Sanford in the late '80's. She lived with Down's Syndrome and was cared for at home by her parents all her life. She was active in The Salvation Army, both in Portland and Sanford and loved working with children in the nursery.Mickey enjoyed dolls, family pictures, beads and testifying about God's love in church. Recently, she was involved with Waban Projects and was cared for by her niece and caregiver, Denise Dow.She was predeceased by her father, Everett A. Dow, Sr. in 1996 and her brother, Everett A. Dow, Jr. in 1985.Survivors include her mother, Melba E. Dow of Sanford and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.Relatives and friends may call at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale on Sunday, January 16, 2005 from 6-8 pm. A memorial service will be held at the Salvation Army, 871 Main Street, Sanford on Monday, January 17, 2005 at 10:00 am. Captain Elaine Camuti will officiate.
