Leticia "Tish" Coleman, 90, died Tuesday at Greenwood Center. She was born in Nicholas County, West Virginia, on May 19, 1912, the daughter of Richard C. and Sue (Strother) Ferguson. She was raised in West Virginia, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in English from Marshall University and a Master of Library Science degree from Peabody School of Library Science at Vanderbilt University. She was an English teacher and public librarian in several locations in West Virginia and Ohio.She married Charles E. Coleman, Jr. and settled in Willard Ohio where he was a road patrolman for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. She worked as the head librarian at the Willard Public Library and then as librarian at Willard High School for more than 20 years. While in Willard, she was an active member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and Delta Kappa Gamma. After retiring, she enjoyedreading, gardening and travel, with trips to Europe, Russia, China, Central and South America, and Australia.She moved to Schooner Estates in Auburn in 1989 and became a classroom volunteer in the elementary schools of Auburn.She was predeceased by her husband in 1962. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Patricia Coleman of Lyman and 2 grandchildren, Peter and Allison Coleman.
