Lester H. Leach

Lester H. Leach, 68 years old, of Alfred, ME died at his home Wednesday morning surrounded by his loving family.Mr. Leach was born on January 14, 1935 in Waterboro, ME. He was the son of Harold and Beatrice Carl Leach. He attended local schools and was employed at Levelly Lumber before retiring in 2000.Lester enjoyed the outdoors and having a lot of fun. One of his favorite pastimes was camping and visiting new places. He always enjoyed a good cookout, or lobster bake with his family. When he was younger Lester drove racecars and coached his children in little league.Surviving is his wife of over 40 years Nancy Lavoie Leach of Alfred, a daughter Jodi L. and Chris St.Saviour of Alfred, four sons, Mark and Priscilla Leach of N. Berwick, Michael L. and Sueko Leach of W. Kennebunk, John W. Leach and his fiance Sara Jones of Sanford, and Douglas H. and Cheryl Leach of Sanford. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, three sisters, Barbara Drown, Ruth Nedeau, and Linda Morais all of Alfred, and four brothers, Raymond and Clifford of Arundel, and Bradley and Robert Leach of Alfred.A 3:30 PM funeral service for Mr. Leach will be held on Saturday March 22. 2003 at the Heald Funeral Home in Springvale.Memorials for Mr. Leach may be made to the American Cancer Society, or to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
