Leonel E. Camire

Leonel E. Camire, 92 years old, of Sanford, ME died Friday August 27, 2004 at the Newton Center in Sanford.Mr. Camire was born on October 9, 1911 in British Columbia, Canada. He was the son of Edmund and Virginia Gagne Camire. Mr. Camire moved to the United States in 1919, and on June 26, 1937 was married to Angela Pouliot Camire.For many years Mr. Camire worked at the Sanford-Goodall Mills until it's eventual closing. He then worked a union job as a pipe fitter until he eventually retired from the union as a Mason Tender.Mr. Camire loved to play table tennis, and was part of the Jolly Bunch Table Tennis club. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church, and loved to tend to his flower gardens. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and will always be remembered as a very hard worker, and loving man.Predeceasing him is his wife Angela, and several brothers and sisters.Surviving is a son Roger and his wife Pauline Camire of Floral City, Fl, five grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa, Brenda, Richard, and Scott; and twelve great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Diana, Henrietta, and two brothers, Ronald and Raymond.A period of visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on Friday September 3, 2004 at the Heald Funeral home, 580 Main St., Springvale, ME. A 10:00 AM Memorial Mass will take place on Saturday the 4th at Holy Family R.C. Church in Sanford.
