Leona I. Parsons

Leona I. Parsons, 88, of Sanford, died October 27 in Sanford after a brief illness.She was born in Exeter, New Hampshire on January 6, 1923, a daughter of William L. and Mary (Chandler) Bayley and attended Exeter schools.Over the years Leona was employed with Hytron Industries in Newburyport, MA, American Optical and with Belding-Heminway-Corticelli both in Putnam, CT. She move to Sanford over 30 years ago.Leona was an animal lover and although she was never able to have one, she was particularly fond of German Shepards. She enjoyed camping and fishing and was a member of the NRA.Her husband, Donald Parsons, died in 1979.Survivors include her daughter, Harriet Cotnoir and her husband Wilbur of Putnam, CT, a sister, Charlotte Grasso and her son Mario Grasso of Wells, and grandchildren Michelle Cotnoir, Christopher Cotnoir and Jamie Cotnoir.No services are planned at this time.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Animal Welfare Society, P.
